NEW YORK -- Continuing its celebration of Mickey Mouse's 75th anniversary, Animated Animations has introduced a limited-edition giclee of "Building a Romance" a full-color scene from Walt Disney's animated 1933 cartoon short "Building a Building."
"Building a Building" stars steam-shovel operator Mickey and box-lunch wagon proprietor Minnie, who offers "baloney, macaroni and a huckleberry pie." "Building a Building" was nominated for an Academy Award for best short subject/cartoon in 1933.
The Depression-era cartoon short uses the construction of skyscrapers as a backdrop while focusing on Mickey and Minnie as workers trying to earn a living despite obstacles.
Five hand-drawn animation drawings, on loan from the Disney Animation Research Library, are reproduced in black and white on the lower portion of the giclee.
The general edition size is 500. The deckle-edged artwork is blind embossed with a Disney Seal of Authenticity and is available both raw and framed.
